"The miracle is not that I finished...
the miracle is that I had the courage to start."
- John Bingham, "The Penguin"
Thanks for your interest in triathlon and NCTC. Newbie can mean many things in our club - maybe you've never run a 5K, maybe you've never swam more than 100 yards, maybe a half-century bike ride is your goal, or maybe you're dreaming of finishing your first Ironman.
You're all welcome here!
We are here to help you learn the ropes of this incredible sport.
Group Bike Rides
If you would like to join or organize a group ride, send a note to NCTC.
Mentors and Training Partners
Would you like to meet someone of comparable ability and goals to train with? Would you like to meet a more experienced triathlete who can answer your "dumb" questions and pass on training tips? Send an e-mail to NCTC and we'll get you matched up.
Did You Know?
Did you know that your bike needs regular tune-ups just like your car does? The grease used on chains and derailleurs attracts dirt and grit, clogging up the moving parts on your machine. Each time you change a tire your brakes get knocked out of true just a touch. This list can be a long one.
Check the NCTC sponsors page for a list of bike shops that can get your ride cleaned up and straightened up when you dust it off this spring.
